receive all documents containing greetings, but not containing christmas.

Choosing all the words will produce every page found that contains
all the words that you have entered. However, the words found might not be
in the order in which you entered them. Choosing the exact phrase will produce
every document that contains all the words in the order in which you entered them.

Infoseek Search


Use capital first letters in order to treat the entire phrase as a single
name or title. For example, using Pearl Harbor will fetch all pages with
Pearl Harbor in them. However, using pearl harbor will just give you all pages
with either pearl or harbor in them. Use commas to separate the different
names and titles. Infoseek accepts plusses and minuses. It also accepts
hyphens and quotations marks for words which are supposed to be
sought as a group, like of-mice-and-men.

WebCrawler accepts the usual Boolean operations of AND, OR and NOT.
It also accepts the operations NEAR and ADJ. You use diabetes NEAR/10
therapy in order to obtain all the documents that contain diabetes and
therapy within a distance of 10 words from each other, but not necessarily
in the same order. You use ADJ between two words in order to fetch the
documents that contain both words in the order in which they were entered.
Also, you may use *Winter Olympics 2002* in order to get the documents with
the same exact phrase in them.

Yahoo! accepts plusses and minuses as well as quotation marks. Use
t:rock hudson to get all the documents with title rock hudson. You can also
